Arsenic Testing and Analysis Kits
Arsenic Testing and Analysis Kits
Though less common than lead-based paint, arsenic was sometimes used in older paint formulations and some Victorian properties still contain wallpapers that used arsenic-based blue and green pigments. If arsenic-based paint or wallpaper becomes damp, a specific type of mould can grow and metabolise the arsenic into a volatile form of arsene gas which can be inhaled by the occupants. Even if concentrations are low, prolonged exposure can lead to arsenic bio-accumulating in the body.
